Fettle is growing business aiming to keep UK’s riders riding. To help more cyclists to be aware of who Fettle is and what we do, events mechanics will be on the ground, drumming up awareness, delivering on-the-go servicing and repairs at pop-ups with local businesses, in busy areas, corporates and general events. This will be a key role within the marketing strategy to attract new customers. You’ll often be organising your own schedule, being a roaming mechanic and talking to as many cyclists as possible.

About The Team & Role.

You will be part of our marketing support team, which consists of: the Brand & Marketing Lead and the Partnerships & Community Manager. The new person joining will work closely with and report directly to the Partnerships & Community Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support partnerships and community manager with the existing events calendar for 2024
  • Deliver bike servicing & repairs on-the-go to a high standard
  • Actively network during the events and build relationships with the potential partners to expand opportunities
  • Support marketing team with feedback developing events set up
  • Research possible corporates, local businesses and events for Fettle to partner with
  • Create agreements to put on events involving bike servicing, repairs, teaching basic bike maintenance and anything else cycling related
  • Structure the events and your time to run smoothly
  • Arrange the necessary logistics
  • Collect data from customers to enable us to contact them in the future
  • Feedback learnings from the ground
  • Coordinate with marketing to ensure you have appropriate materials before, during and after the events and are aligned with the marketing strategy

Skills

  • Must have demonstrable experience equating to a Cytech Level 2 qualification (the qualification itself is not a must, but must be able to demonstrate knowledge)
  • Ability to carry out servicing, adjustments and fitting of new parts for all types
  • of bikes
  • Enjoys interacting with people, this person is naturally helpful and keen to
  • provide a great customer service
  • Comfortable being filmed / photographed whilst representing Fettle
  • Able to teach basic bike maintenance
  • Buzzing about all things cycling, with a real passion for what the bike enables
  • Reliable - turns up on time and communicates any issues as quickly as
  • possible
  • A natural problem solver, able to pinpoint the cause of a wide range of issues,
  • both big and small
  • High levels of professional integrity with a strong sense of ownership
  • Comfortable with working independently, but also willing to be a team player.
  • Able to self-organise their diary.
  • Flexible individual who is happy to work across multiple locations
  • Must have a full UK driving licence
  • Must be comfortable riding a cargo bike

And now, the numbers:‍

  • Salary: £27-29k + bonus potential + £1k in benefits 
  • Hours: Full-time (part time also potentially available). Please note that events may sometimes happen on evenings and weekends, particularly cycling specific ones.
  • Location: Field based

We have created an interview process that is quick and easy, helping us to get to know you and vice versa. Next, we will ask you to come into one of our workshops to meet the team and show us what you can do! If all goes well, you can expect an offer very shortly after.
